The illustration that this lantern is based on is Figure 310, from Iron and Brass Implements of the English House, by J. Seymour Lindsay, 1964 edition. The book lists the lantern as early 18th century. I believe that this lantern could be appropriate for anywhere from the mid-17th through early 19th century impressions.
