This lantern is an interpretation of a late 18th or early 19th century original lantern.  The swinging top with an opening instead of short chimney is an interesting variation on the other lanterns I make.

This lantern is about 14” tall and 5 1/2” in diameter. It has a red oil paint finish. The panes are made from amber colored lampshade mica, which is mica flakes embedded in resin to simulate horn panes.
