Kate's Round Lantern

There are many images of a lantern similar to this in period artwork from the 17th-19th centuries.  This is my interpretation.  It is very similar to the English Ship Lantern, but with only one divider on the panes.

The panes are light colored lampshade mica, which is a modern product made from mica flakes and resin. It is an affordable alternative to the horn panes that would have been used in the late 18th-early 19th century lanterns of this style.

The lantern is about 18" tall, and 7 inches in diameter, and has a brush-painted black oil finish, or an antiqued finish.
