English Ship Lantern

150.00

This large hanging candle lantern is a close interpretation of the ship lanterns hanging on board the HMS Victory in Portsmouth England. I worked from images and measurements provided by the museum.

The panes are light colored lampshade mica, which is a modern product made from mica flakes and resin. It is an affordable alternative to the horn panes that would have been used in the late 18th-early 19th century lanterns of this style.

The lantern is about 20" tall with the handle and has a brush-painted black oil finish, bright tin or an antique finish.

The appearance of the antique finish will vary widely from lantern to lantern.

Please allow up to six weeks for delivery.
